Geographical location
Located between 2” and 7” north of the Equator, Peninsular Malaysia is separate from the states of Sabah and Sarawak by the South China Sea. To the north of Peninsular Malaysia is Thailand while its southern neighbor is Singapore, Sabah and Sarawak are bounded by Indonesia while Sarawak also shares a border with Brunei.

Bahasa Melayu (Malay) is the national language but English is widely spoken. The ethnic groups also speak various languages and dialects such as Chinese, Tamil, etc. besides mandarin, the Chinese here speak various dialects as Cantonese, Hockien, Hakka, Teochew, etc.
Islam in the official religion but all other religions are freely practiced.
Parliamentary democracy with bicameral legislative system. The head of State is the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong and the Head of Government is the Prime Minister.
Tropical Climate with warm weather all year round. Temperature range from 21°C (70°F) to 32°C (90°F). Annual rainfall varies from 2, 000mm to 2, 500mm.
There are about 600 schools and institution of higher learning recognized by the government. Apart from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, Malaysia offers one of the best Chinese education in the world. In addition, quite a number of notable institutions of higher learning from England, Australia, USA and other countries have set up branches here.
Cost of Living
The cost of living in Malaysia is relatively low compared to various Asian countries. However, the quality of life is comparatively higher than the surrounding regions.
